Editing

Visual edit mode

Click straight into text on the preview and type. For copy changes, it costs no credits and takes no build.

Some changes don’t need the AI. Fixing a typo, tightening a headline, or swapping a button label is faster to do by hand — so you can click into the text on the preview and type.

The three modes

The preview toolbar switches between:

ModeWhat clicking does
InteractBehaves like the live site — links navigate, menus open
SelectPicks a block and attaches it to your chat message
EditPuts the cursor in the text so you can type

Use Interact to check the site works, Select to point the AI at something (“make this section shorter” — see Selecting blocks), and Edit to change wording yourself.

Editing text

Switch to Edit and click any text — headings, paragraphs, buttons, links. Type as you would anywhere else. Formatting inside the text, like a bold word or a line break, is preserved.

Edits collect as you go and are marked as unsaved. Nothing is published until you save.

Saving

Click Save to commit every pending edit at once. That creates one new version for the whole batch, not one per edit — so correcting five typos is a single version, not five.

Saving runs in the background. You can keep working while it builds, and you’ll be told when it’s done or if something failed. Anything you edit during a save stays marked unsaved and goes into the next one.

You can reset an individual block to its previous text, or discard everything pending, before saving.

When to use the AI instead

Visual edit changes text in place. Ask the AI when you want to change anything else:

  • Adding, removing, or reordering sections.
  • Layout, spacing, colours, or images.
  • Anything spanning several places at once (“change the product name everywhere”).

For those, see Editing with AI.

Credits

Typing your own text costs no credits — there’s no model involved. Only AI edits consume credits. See Saving credits.

If someone else is editing

A site can only be edited by one person at a time. If a teammate is already in Edit mode, you’ll be told rather than silently overwriting their work. Wait for them to save or leave the mode.
