Erasing a person

Permanently delete a person and everything PageFork holds about them — for a privacy request or a record that should not exist.

Sometimes a record has to go completely: someone asks you to delete their data, or a test entry or a spam submission needs clearing out. Delete person removes a person and everything attached to them in one step.

Erasing is a Pro feature, and only owners and admins can do it. It is permanent. See Basic and Pro plans and Team and roles.

What gets deleted

Everything PageFork stores about that person on that site:

DeletedIncludes
The personName, email, phone, company, tags, custom field values
Their leadsEvery lead, open or closed, with its stage, owner, value and priority
Follow-upsEvery follow-up on those leads, done or not
Form submissionsEvery submission they sent, including the original answers
Delivery recordsThe delivery log entries for those submissions under your destinations
Notes and activityNotes, calls, emails and meetings logged against them
HistoryThe full timeline of changes

It all goes together. You can’t erase a person but keep their leads, or keep their submissions.

What is not deleted

PageFork can only delete what it holds. Erasing a person does not reach:

  • Copies already sent elsewhere. Rows in a Google Sheet, subscribers in Mailchimp or Kit, records created through a webhook, Zapier or Make. Remove those in the other tool. See Destinations overview.
  • Emails already delivered. Notification emails about their submissions stay in whichever inboxes received them.
  • Files you’ve downloaded. Any CSV export made earlier still contains them.
  • The same person on another site. People are per site. If they also appear on a second site of yours, erase them there too.

Your setup is untouched: custom fields, pipeline stages and tags used by other people all stay as they are.

Delivery log entries for stage triggers aren’t linked to the person, so they stay in the log until they age out on their own.

How to erase someone

  1. Open the person — from the People view, or from one of their leads.
  2. Open the More actions menu at the top right.
  3. Choose Delete person….
  4. The dialog tells you what will go: the number of leads and submissions, plus notes, follow-ups and history.
  5. Type the confirmation text exactly as shown. It’s the person’s name; if they have no name, their email; if they have neither, the word delete.
  6. Click Delete person.

The button stays disabled until the text matches, capitals included. Afterwards you’re returned to the People view.

It can’t be undone

There is no bin and no restore. PageFork doesn’t keep a copy, and nothing about the erased person remains on the site — not even a note that they were erased.

If you may need proof that you handled a deletion request, keep your own record of it outside PageFork.

If they come back

An erased person isn’t blocked. If they submit a form again, or turn up in a later import, PageFork has no memory of them and creates a new person with a fresh history.

Erase or archive?

If you only want someone out of the way — a lead that went nowhere, a customer you’ve stopped working with — archive them instead. Archiving hides a person and their leads from your everyday views but keeps everything, and it can be reversed. A new submission from an archived person brings them back automatically.

Archiving is done from the Leads List view.

Use erase when the data genuinely must not exist any more.

Good to know

Delete person… isn’t in the menu. You’re a member. Only owners and admins see it.

You merged the wrong people and want to split them. Erasing doesn’t help — it would remove both people’s data, since a merged record is one person. See Merging duplicates.

You want to clear out many people at once. People are erased one at a time.
