The editor interface
A quick tour of the chat panel, live preview, and toolbar.
Open any site and you land on the editor. It has three parts: the chat on the left, the preview on the right, and a toolbar across the top.
Chat panel
The chat on the left is where you ask questions and request changes in one flow. It keeps your full conversation history (scroll up to load older messages) and shows every action PageFork took, grouped by message. See Editing with AI for prompt patterns and Questions and edits for how PageFork decides whether to reply or change your site.
The + button below the composer uploads files — images, videos, PDFs, and more. They appear as URL badges in your message. Choose Upload for a new file or Select from Media Library to reuse an existing one. See File uploads and Media library.
The same menu includes Create Image — toggle it on to let PageFork generate custom visuals during edits (illustrations, mockups, brand art). See AI image generation.
If you refresh the page while a generation is running, PageFork restores the live progress in chat so you can pick up where you left off.
Tip: press ⌘/Ctrl + Enter inside the composer to send.
Live preview
The right side is a live preview of the current version of your site. It’s a real page, rendered in a sandboxed iframe, not a screenshot. You can:
- Scroll through sections.
- Click through to other pages (in Interact mode).
- Click individual elements to reference them in chat (in Select mode).
The preview updates automatically as new versions are generated.
Toolbar
The toolbar above the preview controls:
- Undo / Redo — step through versions. See Versions, undo, and retry.
- Select / Interact — switch between pointing at elements and using the site normally. See Selecting blocks.
- Pages — browse and switch between pages on the site. See Multi-page sites.
- Device preview — desktop, tablet, or mobile widths. See Preview devices.
- View Live — opens the published site in a new tab (visible once the site is published).
- Domain — opens the domain settings sheet.
- Publish / Republish — push the current version live. See Publishing overview.
Desktop vs mobile layout
- Desktop: chat and preview side by side, with a resize handle between them and a collapse button on the chat panel.
- Mobile: a bottom tab bar lets you switch between Chat and Preview. All other controls still work.
