Troubleshooting

Publish issues

Publishing got stuck, failed, or the live site does not reflect your edits.

Publishing is usually instant. When it isn’t, one of these is almost always the cause.

”Subscribe” shows instead of “Publish”

You don’t have an active hosting subscription on this site.

  1. Click Subscribe in the toolbar.
  2. Pick monthly or yearly.
  3. Complete checkout.
  4. Click Publish.

See Hosting subscriptions.

Publish button is disabled

  • The site might be mid-generation. Wait for it to finish.
  • The browser tab may have lost the session. Refresh and sign in again.

Publish failed

A banner or toast says the publish failed. Try these in order:

  1. Click Publish again. Most transient failures resolve on a second attempt.
  2. Check Billing → Subscriptions — is the subscription still active? An expired payment can silently put the sub into a “past due” state.
  3. Ensure the site actually has a current version. If you just generated a site and the generation failed, publish will fail too. See Generation failed.
  4. Contact support with the site URL and the approximate time of the failure.

Live site doesn’t reflect my latest edits

Publishing is a manual step — edits don’t automatically appear live.

  1. Confirm the editor shows the version you want live.
  2. Click Republish.
  3. Open the live URL in an incognito window to avoid cache surprises. See also Preview not updating.

Live site is completely unreachable

  • Custom domain: check the domain status is Active in the domain sheet. See Connecting your domain.
  • Free subdomain: confirm you haven’t changed the subdomain label recently (the old one stops serving as soon as you change it).
  • Subscription: confirm the subscription for this site is active.

I need to push an urgent fix

  1. Make the edit.
  2. Verify it in the preview.
  3. Click Republish.
  4. Hard-refresh your live URL (Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + R) to confirm.
