Preview links

Share a working draft of your site with anyone — no domain, no plan, no account needed on their end.

A preview link is a private URL that shows your current draft to anyone you send it to. They don’t need a PageFork account, and you don’t need a domain or a plan.

This is how you show work to a client, a colleague, or a friend before the site goes live.

Publishing is a different thing. Going live requires a custom domain you own and a Basic or Pro plan for the site. Preview links are the free path, and they’re the right tool for feedback anyway — you can iterate without touching anything public.

Creating one

  1. Open your site in the editor.
  2. Go to the Preview tab.
  3. Click to generate a link.
  4. Copy it, or open it in a new tab to check it yourself.

You get a URL like https://preview.pagefork.ai/p/a1b2c3…. The token is long and random, so the link can’t be guessed — but anyone who has it can view the draft, so treat it as semi-public.

What the visitor sees

The full multi-page draft as it currently stands in the editor — every page, navigation between them, images, and styling. Not a screenshot, not a single page: the real thing.

Forms on a preview will render, but treat the preview as a look at the design rather than a live intake channel.

Preview pages are served with noindex, nofollow, so search engines won’t list them. A preview won’t compete with your real site or leak a half-finished draft into Google.

Every edit you make creates a new version of your site, and a preview link points at the specific version it was generated from. The Preview tab tells you which one — “anyone with this link can view the draft (v4)”.

That’s deliberate. A client reviewing v4 keeps seeing v4 while you carry on editing, so the ground doesn’t shift under a review that’s already in progress.

The consequence to remember: editing does not update a link you already shared. When you want reviewers on your latest work, generate a fresh link for the current version and send that.

If you have a link out for an older version, the tab points it out — generating a link for the current version only replaces links for that version, so the older one keeps working until you revoke it.

Revoking

Revoke Link kills a link immediately. Anyone who tries it afterwards gets nothing.

Use it when a review is finished, when a link has spread further than you meant, or before a draft you’d rather nobody kept a copy of.

Regenerating revokes the current link and issues a new one, so sending an updated link automatically retires the old one for that version.
