Your PageFork subdomain
Every site gets a free *.pagefork.ai subdomain — customise it.
Every published PageFork site is automatically available at a subdomain of
pagefork.ai, e.g. acme.pagefork.ai. The subdomain is free, comes with
automatic SSL, and stays active as long as your hosting subscription is
active.
Changing your subdomain
- In the editor, open the toolbar’s Domain button (or the Domain section in the publish menu).
- Edit the subdomain label (the part before
.pagefork.ai). - Save.
The change takes effect immediately on the next republish. Your previous subdomain is freed up.
Subdomain rules
- Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only.
- Must start and end with a letter or number.
- Must be unique across PageFork.
- If a subdomain is taken, pick another.
Tip: use your brand name or campaign name. Avoid anything tied to a specific date or version unless the site itself is short-lived.
Do I need a custom domain?
No. The free subdomain works for:
- Internal previews with clients or teammates.
- Small projects where the domain doesn’t matter.
- Early validation before you buy a domain.
You can add a custom domain later without changing anything else — your subdomain keeps working alongside it.
When your subdomain stops working
- Subscription cancelled or lapsed. When hosting stops, the subdomain returns a “not found” page.
- Site unpublished. Same result — republish to bring it back.
